Sir Donnerhall son starts performance test

The Sir Donnerhall son Lest of Lantana started his spring test today, Monday 15 April.

The performance test will last 50 days this spring. Lest of Lantana was very sympathetically ridden by Franka Loos. The chestnut stallion showed 3 good basic gaits with lots of space, balance and technic. The son of Sir Donnerhall x Hemmingway is bred from a very deserving sport horse line where, apart from international jumpers, also the international dressage horse Cennin from Madeleine Witte comes out. The mother of Lest of Lantana is the ster, preferent performance mare Lantana V. This daughter of Hemingway is also the mother of the international dressage horse Vitana V (by Donnerhall).

Winning debut Ferrer-Salat with Negro son Elegance

The CDI3 * in Granada (ESP) was the international debut in the Grand Prix of the Spanish top rider Beatriz Ferrer-Salat with the KWPN bred Elegance. Ferrer-Salat won the Grand Prix with 69,413% and was second in the Special (70,872%) with the son of Negro. Two weeks ago the pair won the Grand Prix and Special nationally with percentages above 70%.

As a three-year-old Elegance was sold to Beatriz Ferrer-Salat. Beatriz also bought Elegance’s full brother, the NRPS approved stallion Nick. Both Nick and Elegance are bred by Van Olst Horses and come from the elite, preferent sport (dres) mare Reina. This daughter of Monaco x Sultan ran herself under the name “The Rose” at international Small Tour level.
The ten-year-old gelding won several young horse classes in Spain and was calmly trained until the Grand Prix. In Granada was the international debut in the Big Tour. In the Grand Prix the combination was first with 69.413%. “I am very happy with Elegance, it was his first international performance and they were not optimal weather conditions,” Ferrer-Salat continued, “so there were moments of excitement, but it is a great horse that is becoming increasingly comfortable in the tests.”

Interesting to note that in the Van Olst Sales collection 2019, two mares from Elegance’s mother will be auctioned. These are number 32 Liza (Nespresso x Monaco x Sultan) and number 36 Lady Rose (Glamourdale x Monaco x Sultan).

Van Olst Sales-mares score well during IBOP

On Friday, April 19, a number of breeding-technically very interesting mares will come under the hammer during the Van Olst Sales 2019. All of them received today in addition to their already received star predicate, also a sufficient score for their performance under saddle during the IBOP test in Turnhout.

In the catalog of the Van Olst Sales 2019 there are not only talented stallions and geldings, but also some very interesting mares. These predominantly 3-year-old mares were all declared ‘ster’ with great points last March and can now also add a sufficient IBOP test. These only three-year-old mares were already riding well on strange terrain by our riders Franka Loos and Benjamin Maljaars. In this way future owners are already very close to an elite / keur mare which can already be a good start for a successful breeding. These mares are also all WFFS-free.

The following mares have passed the IBOP:

Painted Black-daughter auction topper EDS

Charming Lady set the record price of 700,000 euros on the Excellent Dressage Sales last night. The twelve-year-old elite mare, who competed with Jeanine Nieuwenhuis in the Grand Prix, has found a new owner in Germany. The daughter of our preferent top producer Painted Black (Gribaldi x Ferro) was a true audience favorite. This very talented mare, who showed an enormous amount of quality in her piaffe and passage tour, offered fast.

Negro-daughter highest score at IBOP

During the IBOP in Luttenberg in Overijssel, 15 mares succeeded. In terms of points, Lady (by Negro) scored 83.5 points with the dressage horses.

The dressage mares had a high success rate and also an outlier came forward. Veterinarian and team veterinary Edwin Enzerink came out as a breeder / registered for the only three-year-old Lady (Negro from Welcome keur IBOP dres of Krack C), who could subsequently also be declared “ster”. She collected 83.5 points in the IBOP with 9s for both the balance and the ridetability. A striking result for the mare that has to be three years old. “This well-developed mare excelled in her attitude, balance, support and workability. That was strikingly good for such a young mare. The trot and canter are with a lot of leg technique and the image is always beautiful uphill. Lady can already ride and work fantastically well, and is a generous and upward-built mare, “says inspector Henk Dirksen.

Painted Black-daughter wins Ornago (ITA)

Last weekend Morgan Barbançon and Black Pearl made their international debut in the Grand Prix in Ornago, Italy. After an eleventh place in the GP, Barbançon won the Freestyle. In the Grand Prix the percentages were not that high yet, they became eleventh with 67,391%. Things went better in the freestyle and the score was 71.025%. There were still errors in the series, but the trotting guards yielded eight. Afterwards, Morgan Barbançon, who started for France, was happy with the result. “She reminds me a lot of her father,” she said afterwards. Morgan achieved great success with the preferent topproducer Painted Black, including participation in World Equestrian Games and the Olympic Games in London. Under Charlotte Fry, the Painted Black daughter Black Pearl started her international career. As a young horse, Black Pearl was trained by Anne and competed by Fry. Through the Danish Charlotte Heering the now thirteen year old mare came into the hands of Morgan Barbançon.

Everdale wins U25 freestyle during Indoor Brabant

Charlotte Fry finished third in the U25 test with Everdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro) on Friday, but the British rider left no doubt about it in the freestyle on Saturday. With 76.075% Everdale won the victory. The piaffe and passage came back nicely and the stallion showed that he not only has talent for collecting, but also for the extended gates. It was a shame that a mistake in the changes crept into the canter, but the score of more than 76% was more than sufficient for the win.
