Glamourdale nominated for KWPN horse of the year!

The black eye-catcher and Champion stallion Glamourdale is nominated for “KWPN horse of the year”!

Already at the stallion inspection in ‘s Hertogenbosch he managed to impress with his imposing model and great movements. In the final championship inspection, he was awarded the championship title supported by the enthusiastic public. The talents of the stallion were also well reflected under the saddle. He concluded his performance test with a top score and as a 5-year-old he managed to achieve a 10th place at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses.

As a 7 year old he could again participate in this World Championship where he became the undoubted World Champion. Following this, as an 8 year old, a historic victory was achieved in the Mecca of equestrian sports: Aachen. Winning the Prix st. Georges with the first 10’s and no less than 6% apart from the number 2, the Intermediate I was also won with a huge score of more than 80%, a unique achievement in the history of this prestigious event.

That Glamourdale does not have any problems with the highest collection and the most difficult lectures became evident in 2020. As a 9 (!) Year old, he made his debut in the Intermediate II with a great 74%. In August of this year, the Grand Prix debut was also won with a score of almost 78%.

The expectations for his international debut are high, but given the developments he shows at home in the training, we look forward to this with great confidence!

Negro hengst

Negro in second place USEF Dressage Ranking

Every year the American sports association USEF makes a ranking for stallions that is ranked by the success of the stallion’s offspring in the sport. This ranking is a valuable resource for breeders, riders and owners.

In 2020 Negro is in the second place this ranking. This is not the first time for Negro to be on the list. He has been listed in this list for the past 5 years.

A unique achievement is that a stallion who is not stationed in America, so only available through frozen semen, is this high placed on the list.

Van Olst Horses sells George Clooney

The black KWPN approved stallion George Clooney (s. De Niro x Wolkentanz x Forrest xx) has been sold. His new owner is an English investor who will leave George Clooney in training with his current rider Severo Jurado Lopez.

George Clooney is a Hanoverian registered stallion, bred by Ulrike Lahmann-Gehrke, Wittingen Germany. He is approved by the KWPN as well as in Oldenburg and Hannover.

The very interesting bred George Clooney has 2 full brothers at Grand Prix level and a very famous cousin: “Don Johnson” (Isabel Werth) who is high placed in the FEI World Ranking.

George Clooney himself has been very successful in Small Tour level and is now trained up to Grand Prix. His offspring is performing excellent, for instance the 2020 NRPS performance test winner “Gregory”, the 2019 Prinsenstad winner “Keano”, the EPTM highlight “Kurona” and many successful horses in the “Van Olst Sales”.

George Clooney will continue to be available through frozen semen.

Unfortunately no English Championships for Charlotte Fry

Den Hout- The British National Grand Prix Championships will be held in Hartpury (GB) on 21 and 22 December. It promises to be a very exciting battle with all the British top riders such as Charlotte Dujardin and Carl Hester. However, one name is missing from this list: Charlotte Fry, based in the Netherlands. The current Corona developments are a major risk and The Netherlands are in Lock down starting today. Van Olst Horses therefore unfortunately had to decide to withdraw Lottie and her top horses for this championship.

Ambassadeurs Valegro

Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro “Rider and Horse of the Decade

Charlotte Dujardin and her top horse Valegro have been named ‘Rider of the Decade’ and ‘Horse of the Decade’ by the readers of the British horse magazine Horse & Hound. Dujardin writes on Instagram: “It really means a lot to me as a rider and to everyone involved with Blueberry!

The choice of the British readership is not entirely surprising, Charlotte Dujardin and her Olympic horse Valegro are immensely popular in their country. In the period from 2011 to 2020, Dujardin has won everything that could be won with the Negro son. At the Games in London and Rio they were three gold and one silver medal. At the World Equestrian Games in Caen it was only gold. She also became European champion three times with Valegro and she won the World Cup final twice. “He has never, never abandoned us, not his country or Charlotte,” said Carl Hester at the award ceremony.

World record freestyle 94.30%

Dujardin’s pick of 19 medals this decade, 13 of them gold. The medals she won with Mount St. John Freestyle (by Fidermark) are also included here. Dujardin also has about 100 international victories to her name. In March 2011 Charlotte Dujardin appeared on the international stage and that was in Vidauban with Valegro. Valegro deserves the election for all the victories he achieved with his rider. The pair also managed to improve the world record scores of Totilas. The world record in the freestyle was set at 94.30%

“I could not have dreamed of double gold”

In the interview with H&H, Charlotte Dujardin says: “The highlight of my career is London 2012 – it was my first Olympic Games, and I never dreamed to get away with double gold.”

“Journey far from over”

“It was a fantastic journey and it is still not over. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for me ”, the rider writes on Instagram.

Lord Leatherdale temporarily moved to England

Den Hout- Lord Leatherdale will continue his dressage career as a junior horse for the British pony rider Isobel Lickley.

Lord Leatherdale is known as the sire of the Grand Prix stallions Everdale, Chippendale, “World Champion” Glamourdale and the young stallion Lord Europe. Under Charlotte Fry, Lord Leatherdale has successfully competed up to Intermediate II level and is registered with the KNHS in the Big Tour.

Van Olst: “Lord Leatherdale is of great value to us. Lottie has ridden him successfully in recent years, but she needs to focus more on the younger generation who are coming up. Lord Leatherdale will turn eighteen next year, and he deserves the best and most beautiful place where he can proceed his sporting career. The Lickley family have been good customers and good friends of ours for many years, they have a great accommodation where Lord Leatherdale will lack nothing. That is why we have decided to make Lord Leatherdale available to Isobel Lickley. We hope that Isobel and Lord Leatherdale will enjoy each other for a long time to come. After this sporting adventure Lord Leatherdale will return to Den Hout. “

Lord Leatherdale moved to England four weeks ago and last weekend the new combination made their competition debut. Isobel Lickley: “I’m still looking for the buttons and we had a lot of unsolicited one-tempis, but he was fantastic”, said the young rider, who also said that she had to squeeze herself every day for the past few weeks. check that she is not dreaming.

Jeroen Leatherdale sold to England
