Last Saturday the VWF Prinsenstad took place in Delft. Kim Noordijk rode the test for three-year-old dressage horses here with No Nonsense D. This horse is a descendant of Glamourdale x Olivi. He’s bred by P. Damen. No Nonsense D is owned by Witte-Scholtens and MT-stables.

Kim describes No Nonsense as ‘a great horse to ride with a top attitude’. The combination received beautiful marks including a 9 for trot and elasticity and an 8.7 for canter and carriage. A promise for the future!

Successful international debut for Especial

An international competition is currently taking place in Exloo.

A good time to take out the horses that have been trained at home after all the successes of recent times.
1 of these horses is the 7-year-old Everdale son Especial, bred by CJJ van Bavel from Oosterhout out of the Vivaldi mare Ethel.

The elegant gray gelding made his debut at this international competition in the Prix st. Georges. At 7 years old, he was the youngest participant in this class and managed to achieve a score of more than 68%. In the Intermediare I class, which was held on Friday, the pair managed to achieve a score of 69.6%.

Again a son of Everdale who is successful in the Prix st. Georges. We are very satisfied with a debut like this and are looking forward to the future with this top talent.

Glamordale Daughter Narzar to highest score in IBOP Sonnega

With 83.5 points, Narzar (Glamourdale out of Zarzar elite IBOP-dres pref PROK by Jazz, breeder W. Smid of Nuis) owned by J. Hooge of Ees achieved the highest score of the day. This three-year-old scored 8s and 8.5s and became an instant elite mare thanks to the IBOP. “This mare stood out with three good basic gaits and a beautiful silhouette. She walks well, trots with impulsion, suppleness, good posture and a nice foreleg technique. In canter she has a lot of power, space and attitude. In addition, the image is always uphill and moves with good behavior. She is also a pleasure to ride,” says Bart Henstra.

His first crop is now 8 years old and in Europe we have already seen great scores and victories from these horses. But also in America the first children of Everdale are starting to get good results in Small Tour classes.
At the competition in Lexington, for example, Inxs van de Wolfshoeve ds. Rousseau bred by Annemieke van der Horst with a score of 72.059% to claim first place. He was ridden by Ali Potasky in the Inter I class. What is special is that the same rider was also able to claim second place and now with the horse Irintha who also descends from Everdale! Irintha was bred by Rene van Erp out of the keur preferent prestatie mare Zwyrintha s. Tenerife VDL who is also the dam of the NRPS approved stallion Nespresso s. Negro.

Jessica Leijser: “I’ve never had such a good horse”

Jessica Leijser is back in the sub-top after a year of absence. She rode her self-trained Kashmir  (by Glamourdale) to a third place and 67.143% in the ZZ-Zwaar. The combination started during Geldrop Hippique in Heeze.

Promise for the future

The rider was ready for a new challenge and the black Kashmir was ready for it. “My other horse was sold and I thought it was a bit boring. I haven’t ridden many national competitions in recent years. I actually want to go back to the subtop again, the six-year-old was ready and I thought ‘let’s go for it!’ Despite some tension and some mistakes, we could already start with this score. That promises something for the future,” says Jessica.

Self-bred and trained

“The extended gaits in both trot and canter and the tempi changes were the highlights of the test. The trot halfpasses also scored good points,” she says. The black Kashmir is bred and trained by herself. “I have never had such a good horse as this one. He is still very young but he has so much talent for higher work. He plays with the exercises and it comes easily to him. Now I thought, I’m going to ride it nicely ZZ-Zwaar to gain experience. Next year we will make the step up to the Small Tour and I want to take him internationally as well.”

Natural talent

“Kashmir is a real natural talent. I regularly get questions about that horse, so whether I have him in the stable for another year is the question. But until then, I’m enjoying him immensely. My other horses are still young, so it will take a few more years before I can ride in the subtop again,” she says. “The judges were also very enthusiastic. Something really comes in and they thought he was a very good horse. The tension still has to come off and the mistakes removed and then it is certainly a horse that can score 75%. But it has to happen first. Now it’s a matter of putting miles on it and gaining experience.”
