KWPN Young Dressage Talents Oosteind
On November 5, the KWPN West Brabant organized a competition for young dressage horses in Oosteind: the KWPN Young Dressage Talents. A well-organized competition where the young horses can gain experience in a beautiful atmosphere. An additional advantage is that it is a 15-minute drive for us, which makes it possible to participate with several horses.
In the four-year-old class, not less than 9 of our horses took part, 6 of these horses belonged to the best 8 of the day. The best three horses were trial ridden in the final by the guest judge Jorinde Verwimp, who judged this class together with Danielle Heikoop.
Nacho Groll, the Everdale x Uptown son, bred by R. Enting, came in eighth place, he’s bred out of the same dam as the KWPN stallion Inclusive. Nacho Groll was ridden by our stable rider Phoebe Peters. She also shared the fifth place with Ninja D’Or and Supernatural. Ninja D’Or, by Chippendale, was bred by Berry van der Hoorn and J. van Stokkom out of a Rousseau mare and Supernatural is owned by Phoebe Peters herself. Heather Stack from Great Britain is the breeder of this chestnut gelding.
Then in 3rd place it was again Phoebe Peters but now in the saddle of the winner of last year’s three-year-olds, Everest. Everest was bred by Van Olst Horses and sired by Especial and the mare Fresia s. Negro x Monaco.
In second place Charlotte Fry with the Everdale daughter Nova-Liz, who was also the highest placed mare. Nova-Liz was bred by Mr Van der Steen out of the Johnson mare Frizzle Liz. The first place in this class was also for Charlotte Fry, but now with the KWPN stallion Nalegro. The black powerhouse made a big impression during this first round with his powerful hind leg and talent for collecting. His sire is the Grand Prix stallion Painted Black and his dam is none other than the full sister of the world famous dressage horse Valegro s. Negro x Gershwin. Breeders of this stallion are the Hanse family and Van Olst Horses.
Jorinde Verwimp then tried out the best three horses and afterwards indicated that she was very impressed with the quality of the horses and the level of training. Everest received 85 points from her, Nova-Liz 90 points and Nalegro 95 points, so the final standings in the class no longer changed.
