After 21 years, finally an Olympic medal for an approved KWPN stallion.
It was in 1996 that the KWPN approved stallion Weyden, under Sven Rothenberger, won two bronze medals during the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Then it was the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney where the KWPN stallion Ferro under the saddle of Coby van Baalen won a silver team medal.
Now, 21 years later, it is the KWPN approved stallion Everdale (by Lord Leatherdale x Negro, breeder P. Kluitmans from Tilburg) who, under the 25-year-old English rider Charlotte Fry, achieved a great bronze team medal during the Olympic Games in Tokyo. .
Owner Van Olst Horses is proud of the achievements of Everdale and Charlotte Fry.
But Van Olst Horses had even more beautiful moments during “Tokyo 2020”:
The own breeding product Elegance (by Negro x Reina by Monaco, breeder Van Olst Horses) performed very well under Beatriz Ferrer Salat.
Fendi T (by Negro x Sursela by Lester, breeder W. Timmers from Volkel), owned by Van Olst Horses, also performed well under Severo Jurado Lopez. Both Fendi T and Elegance were in the Spanish team that finished in 7th place.
We also enjoyed Bufranco in Tokyo (by Negro x Franka by Zewind, breeder fam Kroot from Haghorst). Bufranco was sold by Van Olst Horses to the Danish Charlotte Heering as a 5-year-old. This combination showed super form in Tokyo and was the traveling reserve of the Danish team.
